Chuck is a United States Coastguard Veteran who has been trapped in his home for over a year due to the inability to get a wheelchair ramp installed at his house. Besides the inability to get a wheelchair ramp, he can’t even go outside onto his own deck to get some fresh air if he pleased due to a drop that prevents him from rolling his wheelchair out of the house. His request finally came to us, The Veterans of All Wars Riders Corporation, in February 2020 after turned down multiple times by the various veterans’ organizations.

We have started a GoFundMe campaign to fundraise money for a wheelchair ramp to be built for him. The campaign was created to cover the cost of not only building the ramp but to also fund additional items such as the relocation of the electrical box and gas line as well as any permits required for the job to be accomplished.

As of November 2020, Chuck’s ramp has been underway due in part of the generous donation of supplies from Home Depot and Richard, a local contractor, who donated his time to construct the ramp.

February 2021 Update

On February 28th, 2021, we returned to Chuck’s place of residence to officially declare that his wheelchair ramp had been finished.

This wheelchair ramp couldn’t have been built without the generous donation from Home Depot who donated all of the building materials for the project.

CBS 13 Sacramento also came out to cover the wheelchair ramp as well as Chuck’s story of being trapped in his house for over two years and finally being able to leave his house again. Their coverage of this can be found in their article posted on their website as well as in the video embedded below of what was aired on the news that night.
